Brewers split squads top Angels, A's

Milwaukee Brewers split squads cruised to wins over the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland A's on Saturday.

Eric Thames and Christian Yelich led off the first inning with back-to-back home runs, as the Brewers topped the Angels 5-1.

Top prospect Keston Hiura stayed hot in the Brewers' other game, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and a home run to lead Milwaukee to an 11-2 win over the A's.

Thames homered on the second pitch of the game, while Yelich homered on the third.

Josh Tomlin got the start against the Angels, allowing just one hit and one walk in five innings.

Hiura, Nate Orf and Trent Grisham homered in the sixth inning against Oakland.

Brandon Woodruff started against the A's, allowing just one hit and a walk in three innings.
