Brewers reinstate 2B Scooter Gennett from DL
The Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday reinstated second baseman Scooter Gennett from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Yadiel Rivera to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Gennett, 26, hit .258 with four home runs and five RBI in 18 games before the injury. He has not played in the majors since April 24 and went on the disabled list April 28.
Gennett played two games this week in a rehab stint at Single-A Brevard County, collecting two hits in six at-bats.
Rivera hit .196 in 46 at-bats for the Brewers this season, collecting three doubles, one RBI, one walk and 18 strikeouts. His best game came May 2, when he notched two hits and an RBI against the Los Angeles Angels.
