Brewers' Braun produces against Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates might be tired by now of facing Ryan Braun, who has been a run-producing machine against the Milwaukee Brewers' division rival.

In fact, since 2007, only three players have 100 runs and 100 RBI against an opponent. Braun vs. the Pirates is one of the three -- and he's done it in fewer games than the other three. Braun is closing in on another 100-100 against another opponent as he has 94 runs and 96 RBI in 128 games vs. the Chicago Cubs.

PLAYERS W/ 100 R, 100 RBI VS. ANY OPPONENT SINCE 2007

Player Opponent Games Runs RBI
Ryan Braun Pirates 138 112 105
Matt Kemp Rockies 152 103 135
Miguel Cabrera Twins 154 101 129
Miguel Cabrera Indians 156 109 130

In those 138 games against Pittsburgh, Braun is hitting .309 with a .393 on-base percentage and .549 slugging percentage. He has 32 doubles, four triples and 29 home runs in 603 plate appearances. Braun also has 68 walks and 36 stolen bases -- both are his most against any team -- with only four times caught stealing.

Of course, the Pirates might just be tired of seeing the Brewers, period, especially at Miller Park. Since 2014, Milwaukee is 13-5 at home against Pittsburgh. The .722 winning percentage is the fifth-best home record vs. a divisional opponent in that span.

Other notes:

-- Pittsburgh has the best record in baseball since June 24 at 18-9 (.667). The Pirates are 23-12 (.657) against teams with losing records this season, the second-best such winning percentage in the majors.

-- The National League Central has the most stolen bases this season with 323. Milwaukee is first in the NL with 98 steals and Pittsburgh fourth with 77. Division-mate Cincinnati has 81.

-- Junior Guerra has a 2.85 ERA, which is the fifth-best in Brewers history over a pitcher's first career 15 starts behind Cal Eldred (1.85), Bill Parsons (2.48), Taylor Jungmann (2.48) and Jamie Cocanower (2.64).
