Brewers' Braun mashes Phillies like few ever have

The Milwaukee Brewers can only hope this year's series against the Philadelphia Phillies matches what happened last season.

In 2015, the Brewers won all seven games against the Phillies -- only the fourth time in franchise history Milwaukee had a season sweep of a series lasting six or more games. The others were vs. the Marlins in 1998 (9-0) and 2011 (7-0) and against the Giants in 2008 (6-0).

One reason for the success: Milwaukee raked.

-- Zach Davis is limiting left-handers to a .182 batting average and .236 slugging percentage in his major-league career, which began last September. Those marks rank fourth and third for right-handed pitchers in the majors since Sept. 1.

-- Milwaukee is one of just five teams that has not lost a game in its opponents' last at-bats of the contest so far in 2016. The Brewers had the fewest last at-bat losses in the majors last season (9).

-- Phillies starter Aaron Nola has gone 10 straight starts with fewer than four runs of support.

-- Philadelphia is 1-7 when the opponent scores the first run. The Phillies only such victory occurred in their last game.

-- Philadelphia's Odubel Herrera has reached base in 13 consecutive games.
