Brewers averaging 2 homers per game during latest power surge

The Chicago Cubs may have brought in reinforcements (in the form of starting pitcher Jose Quintana) to help knock the Milwaukee Brewers from their perch atop the National League Central, but the Brewers just keep on winning.

Despite falling 5-2 to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday the Brewers have won 11 of their last 14 games, and head into a four-game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates nursing a 4 1/2-game lead in the division.

The Brewers lead the majors with 28 home runs over that span, and are the only team in baseball averaging two homers per game.

And while Eric Thames, Ryan Braun and Travis Shaw have given the Brewers plenty of pop in the top of their lineup, second-year shortstop Orlando Arcia has been producing from the No. 8 spot.

Arcia has 82 hits from the No. 8 spot in the batting order this season, a figure that leads the majors, and his hitting .301 when hitting eighth.
