Brewers assign 7 players to Arizona Fall League
The Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday announced seven players from their minor-league system will play for the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League this year, including three obtained from the Houston Astros in the Carlos Gomez/Mike Fiers trade.
The seven:
-- Pitcher Jacob Barnes: With Double-A Biloxi has pitched in 36 games with six starts. Has a 3.52 ERA and 1.38 WHIP while striking out 82 in 71 2/3 innings.
-- Pitcher Josh Hader: Has made six starts for Double-A Biloxi since being acquired from the Houston organization. Has a 2.94 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with a .195 opponent batting average. Also has 44 strikeouts and just nine walks in 33 2/3 innings.
-- Pitcher Adrian Houser: Has made six starts for Double-A Biloxi since being acquired from the Houston organization. Has a 1.80 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with a .215 opponent batting average. In addition, has walked just four batters in 35 innings.
-- Pitcher Damien Magnifico: With Double-A Biloxi has a 1.25 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 39 games while going 17-for-19 in save opportunities.
-- Outfielder Brett Phillips: Overall for three teams this season, Phillips is batting .309 with a .374 on-base percentage and .527 slugging percentage. Has played in 23 games for Double-A Biloxi (250/361/413) since being acquired from the Houston organization.
-- Outfielder Michael Reed: Batting .268 with a .371 on-base percentage and 25 steals in 124 games between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Colorado Springs.
-- Shortstop Yadiel Rivera: Batting .243 in 127 games combined between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Colorado Springs.
