Brewers announce 2016 season schedule, Opening Day at home vs. Giants

The Milwaukee Brewers announced their schedule for the 2016 season on Tuesday, and it included Opening Day in Milwaukee on April 4 against the San Francisco Giants.

The opener at Miller Park is the beginning of a six-game homestand in the season's first week. After the Giants leave town, the Brewers host the Houston Astros in a weekend interleague series.

After the season-opening homestand, Milwaukee has a tough road trip, traveling to St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Minnesota for eight games in nine days.

In interleague play, the Brewers will face each team in the American League West Division, plus four games against the border-rival Minnesota Twins.

Milwaukee in 2016 is set to have two 10-game homestands, the first from July 22-31 and the second from Aug. 22-31. The team's longest road trip will be an 11-game NL Central circuit in September.

The Brewers will be at home for games on both Memorial Day (May 30 against the St. Louis Cardinals) and Labor Day (Sept. 5 vs the Chicago Cubs). On the Fourth of July, the Brewers will be in Washington, D.C., to face the Nationals.

According to the team release, all game dates and times are subject to change, and start times for the road games will be announced at a later date.
