Boyfriend proposes to swimmer Katie Hoff prior to ceremonial first pitch at Rays game
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Swimmer Katie Hoff, only 24 years old, has experienced many things in her young life: Participation in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, success in national competitions, memories made in the pool that will last a lifetime.
On Sunday, she added another moment to keep at Tropicana Field.
Hoff was scheduled to throw out the first pitch before the Tampa Bay Rays closed a four-game series with the New York Yankees. Todd Anderson, her boyfriend, proposed near the mound. She said yes. There were cheers. Hugs were exchanged.

And Hoff's pitch? It bounced short of home plate with Anderson waiting, but rest assured, no one cared.
