Bowles Withdraws from Browns Search

You can take another name off the Browns candidate list as Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has withdrawn his name from the search according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1.

Bowles was one of the first interviews in the search and is a former assistant coach on the Browns staff. He is the second candidate to withdraw his name from consideration.

Last week, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels took himself out of the running.

It is believed the Browns are waiting until the Broncos' season is over so they can interview offensive coordinator Adam Gase. If the Broncos lose this weekend to the Patriots, he can be interviewed as soon as Sunday night. If the Broncos win, the Browns would have to wait until after the Super Bowl Feb. 2.

Meanwhile, ESPN reported that Ray Horton and the assistant coaches have been granted permission to interview with other teams. Defensive line coach Joe Cullen joined Lovie Smith's staff with the Buccaneers last week.

Ben McAdoo was hired as the offensive coordinator by the Giants. The former Packers quarterback coach was interviewed by the Browns for their vacant head coaching position.
