Bolte leads No. 19 Iowa State past Virginia

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands (AP) -- Kelsey Bolte scored 13 of her 15 points in the first half to help No. 19 Iowa State beat Virginia 66-48 on Thursday in the Paradise Jam.

Hallie Christofferson added 11 points for the Cyclones (4-0), who used a 30-9 first-half run to blow open a close game.

With the game tied at 10, Iowa State took over to lead 40-19 at the half. The Cyclones hit 14 of their 21 shots (66 percent) in the first half.

The lead ballooned to 33 in the second half before Virginia chipped away to cut the deficit to 17 with 3:19 left. The Cavaliers would get no closer.

Ariana Moorer led Virginia (3-2) with 11 points.

The Cyclones will play TCU on Friday, while Virginia will face West Virginia.
