Blues recall Sammy Blais from San Antonio
ST. LOUIS -- Rookie forward Sammy Blais has shuttled back and forth between the St. Louis Blues and the AHL's San Antonio Rampage quite a bit this season. After spending the past six weeks in the minors, he's back again for another tour of duty in the NHL.
The Blues announced Monday that they've recalled Blais from San Antonio. The 21-year-old forward has dressed in 10 NHL games this season, posting one goal and two assists. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has also appeared in 30 games for the Rampage, collecting 11 goals and 17 assists. The Montmagny, Quebec, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The Blues sent rookie forward Tage Thompson back to the Rampage last Wednesday and have not yet added Nikita Soshkinov -- who was acquired via trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs last Thursday -- to the roster, so a corresponding move was not required to recall Blais.
