Blues recall Pheonix Copley and Ty Rattie from AHL Wolves

ST. LOUIS -- Action resumes for the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, and updates are expected Monday on a couple of injured players, goalie Jake Alllen and forward Jaden Schwartz. Two moves by the club Sunday could tie into that news.

The Blues recalled goaltender Pheonix Copley and forward Ty Rattie from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Copley's AHL teammate, goalie Jordan Binnington, spent two weeks before the All-Star break backing up Brian Elliott before being sent back to Chicago. The recall of Copley, who has never played in an NHL game, could be a sign that Binnington needs work and Allen isn't ready to come back.

Copley, 24, was acquired by the Blues via trade from Washington on July 2, 2015. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound goaltender has appeared in 25 games with the Wolves this season, posting an 11-11-1 record, a 2.75 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage and three shutouts.  uring his AHL rookie season in 2014-15, the North Pole, Alaska, native dressed in 26 regular-season games for the Hershey Bears, tallying a 17-4-3 record, a 2.17 GAA, a .925 save percentage and three shutouts.

Rattie, who was sent down with Binnington on Jan. 25, has made 11 appearances with the Blues, posting five points (three goals, two assists). Rattie, 22, has dressed in 32 games with the Wolves this season and ranks fourth on the club with 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists).
