With Carter Hutton (neck) apparently not yet ready to return to action, the St. Louis Blues recalled goaltender Ville Husso from the AHL's San Antonio Rampage under emergency conditions Monday.
The club had recalled Husso last week after Hutton got hurt, but he did not play as Jake Allen started and finished the Blues' next two games.
Husso was returned to San Antonio on Saturday night so that he could stay sharp in a game Sunday in Ontario, Calif., not far from the Blues' game Monday night at Anaheim. Husso pitched a shutout as the Rampage beat Ontario 4-0.
Husso, 23, again will serve as Allen's backup when the Blues take the ice against the Ducks.
Husso is 14-11-0 in 34 games with the Rampage this season. He ranks third in the AHL with a .928 save percentage and is tied for sixth with a 2.31 goals-against average.
