Blues place Bortuzzo on IR, recall Hunt from Wolves

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues are going to be without Robert Bortuzzo for a little while after the defenseman was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday with a lower-body injury.

In a corresponding move, the Blues recalled defenseman Brad Hunt from the Chicago Wolves. 

Bortuzzo was injured in a Oct. 27 game against the Detroit Red Wings. The Blues said he will be re-evaluated 10 days after the injury occurred. 

Hunt, 28, will be called up from the Blues' minor-league affiliate to help replace Bortuzzo.

Hunt leads the Wolves with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) this season. He's played 21 games in the NHL over the last three years, all with the Edmonton Oilers. Hunt has one goal and two assists in his NHL career. 

In more injury news for the Blues, fellow defenseman Alex Pietrangelo didn't practice with the team on Wednesday, but coach Ken Hitchcock says he should be good to go for Thursday's contest against the Dallas Stars.

The Blues captain appeared to get injured at the end of the first period of Tuesday's game against the New York Rangers. Pietrangelo finished the game, but clearly left feeling worse for wear. Hitchcock says he'll be re-evaluated before Thursday's game.
