Blake Griffin given 4-game suspension after incident with team staffer

The LA Clippers announced forward Blake Griffin has been suspended four games without pay in response to his striking of a team employee. An additional game without pay is also part of the punishment due to the injuries Griffin sustained in the incident.

Griffin broke his hand on Jan. 23 after an altercation in Toronto with team staffer Matias Testi. At the time, the Clippers forward had been out since Dec. 25 due to a quad injury. The initial timetable for Griffin's return following surgery on his broken hand is 4-6 weeks.

The Clippers will donate Griffin's garnished wages from the five games to charities focused on disadvantaged you in Los Angeles. The team also announced that Griffin as requested time to take part in the charities.
