Blake Griffin back in practice; return to games unclear

Good news, Clippers fans. But don't get too excited... yet.

Blake Griffin returned to pratice today according to OC Register's Dan Woike. But the star forward's return to the Clippers' line-up is still unclear with his suspension still looming.

Griffin's last game action came in late 2015 during a Christmas Day game against the Lakers. In that contest, it was a hurt quad he sustained that initially kept out the Clippers' star before the infamous altercation in Toronto with team staffer Matias Testi resulted in a broken right hand for Griffin and a subsequent 4-game suspension.

Much has been made of the Clippers' play in Griffin's abscence, with many questioning if the team had more balance without him on the floor. The Clippers put together a 10-game win streak and have a 27-14 record since Griffin was injured.

But with the playoffs looming and the team just 5-7 in their last 12 games, much of the 'better without Blake' talk has been put to rest.

How much he'll be able to contribute to this season and the playoffs coming off long-term injuries is still very much up for debate though.
