Bengals safety fined for hit on defenseless receiver

Bengals safety George Iloka apparently could have a lighter wallet soon after the NFL fined the second-year pro for a hit to the head of Packers tight end Jermichael Finley early in the Bengals' 34-30 win Sunday.

ProFootballTalk.com reported Tuesday night that Iloka has received a $15,000 fine for the play because Finley was in a defenseless position while trying to catch a pass over the middle. Finley got up looking wobbly, left the field and was unable to return to the game after being diagnosed with a concussion.

Iloka was not flagged during the game, and he Tweeted his displeasure over the discipline meted out this week.

He confirmed to a follower he was fined then appeared to take a pragmatic approach.

According to PFT, an appeal has already been filed.

Iloka has 10 tackles and has started all three games this season after playing in seven off the bench as a rookie.

Coming from Boise State, he was a fifth-round pick (No. 167 overall) in the 2012 draft.
