Beltre tabbed Rangers player of year

Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was tabbed as the team's Player of the Year for a third-consecutive season by the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Beltre is the fourth player to win the honor in three consecutive seasons, joining Ruben Sierra (1987-1989), Juan Gonzalez (1996-1998) and Alex Rodriguez (2001-2003).

Beltre hit .324 with 19 home runs and 77 RBI on his way to winning a Silver Slugger Award at third base. He was also a finalist for the Gold Glove.

Beltre will be honored at the 2015 Dr Pepper Texas Rangers Awards Dinner, which is Jan. 23 at the Dallas Omni Hotel.

Tickets are on sale at www.texasrangers.com/awards at a cost of $100 a ticket.
