Bearcats announce 2015 football schedule

Six games back on campus, three first-time opponents and three weeknight games highlight Cincinnati's 2015 football schedule.

The Bearcats, who won a share of the American Athletic Conference while going 9-4 overall last season, open the season Sept. 5 at newly renovated Nippert Stadium against Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs are one of three opponents facing UC for the first time, joining BYU and Central Florida.

Cincinnati plays BYU on Oct. 17 in Provo, Utah, and plays host to fellow defending AAC champion UCF two weeks later.

Rounding out the nonconference schedule are games against Miami (Ohio) on the road Sept. 19 and Miami (Fla.) at home Oct. 1.

The 120th Battle for the Victory Bell against the RedHawks will precede a quick turnaround for the Bearcats, who must travel to Memphis five days later. The Tigers joined the Bearcats and Knights in a three-way tie atop the conference standings last season.

This year the AAC will split into two divisions for the first time with UC joined in the East by UCF, Connecticut, East Carolina, South Florida and Temple.

The split into divisions also means a championship game, which will be hosted by one of the division winners Dec. 5.
