Baylor's Shawn Oakman Allegedly Beat Up Girl, School Did Nothing
Baylor University is a total mess when it comes to player discipline, but most people haven't noticed it yet.
Last year the school made national headlines when Sam Ukwuachu, a player the school allowed to remain on scholarship, was convicted of raping a former student. What followed was a dispute about whether Baylor knew that Ukwuachu might have had a violent past.
The school settled a Title IX lawsuit filed by the victim in that case.
Last week star defensive lineman Shawn Oakman was charged with sexual assault and arrested.
Schools typically defend themselves in these situations by saying, "How could we have known that this crime would happen?"
Well, according to a report released today, back in 2013 Shawn Oakman was accused of beating up a woman and Baylor did nothing.
Here's that police report.

So Art Briles and Baylor kept a football player accused of beating up a female student on scholarship long enough for him to rape another student. That's unbelievable. And that's after the school also kept another football player on scholarship after he was accused -- and later convicted -- of rape. If this was a a major school in the lonestar state -- Texas or Texas A&M for instance -- this would be the biggest scandal in college sports right now. As is, it's Baylor -- A PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL OF ALL THINGS -- and most people just shrug their shoulders.
But it's time for that to change. Here are the questions I've been asking for a year, that most media and fans have failed to ask.

As I said last September, it's not just Art Briles who should be in trouble over these incidents -- it's school president Ken Starr too. If Ken Starr would go to the ends of the earth to find out if Bill Clinton lied about getting a blow job, don't you think he ought to at least try and keep his football players from raping fellow Baylor students?
So far he hasn't.
The fact that this isn't a bigger story proves how lazy and dumb most fans and media really are.
