Badgers' Jamerson taken in fifth round of NFL draft by Saints

It took a while for Natrell Jamerson to find his position at Wisconsin. He found a home in the defensive backfield and now he has a place in the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints selected Jamerson in the fifth round (No. 164) of the NFL draft Saturday.

Jamerson started out as a wide receiver with the Badgers, was moved to cornerback and finally last season to safety. As a senior, Jamerson had 51 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 3.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.

Jamerson's stock rose at the NFL combine, when he ran 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, had 25 reps on the bench press and recorded a vertical jump of 35.5 inches.

All that led Jamerson to being the third Badgers player drafted, just a few picks behind tight end Troy Fumagalli.
