Austin Hedges, Wil Myers held out of Tuesday's lineup

SAN DIEGO-- Following the Royals' 1-0 victory over the Tigers earlier this afternoon, the Padres are now the only team in Major League Baseball without a victory.

On Tuesday night, they will try to earn that victory without two key starters.

Right fielder Wil Myers (tricep) and catcher Austin Hedges (back) are not in lineup and will miss time for the second straight night.

Hedges was originally in the starting 9, however he was scratched with upper back tightness. The Padres do not expect Hedges' injury to be serious, and they (so far) have no plans on calling a catcher up from AAA.

As for Myers (who exited Monday night's game in the sixth inning due to an injured tricep), the team is still unsure of his future status. A DL stint is not out of the question, but Andy Green & co. are hoping the soreness will go away in the next few days.

ROSTER MOVE:

Prior to Tuesday's game, the Padres made two moves to clear roster space for starting pitcher Tyson Ross. They optioned LHP Kyle McGrath to Triple-A and moved SS Allen Cordoba (concussion) to the 60-day DL.
