ASU's Felix goes to Cavs with 33rd overall pick

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have selected Arizona State forward Carrick Felix with the No. 33 overall pick in the NBA draft.

The Cavs used their fourth pick and second in the second round on Felix, who averaged 14.6 points and a team-high 8.1 rebounds last season for the Sun Devils. The 6-foot-6 Felix is considered a strong defender, which may have attracted Cavs coach Mike Brown to him.

Felix scored in double figures in 28 of 35 games last season. He recorded a career-high 18 rebounds in a game against UCLA.

Two picks before taking Felix, the Cavs took California guard Allen Crabbe, but there are reports the team plans to trade Crabbe to Portland for two future second-round draft picks.
