ASU football promises rivalry win, championships in letter to fans
The Sun Devils say they are ready for "The Grind."
In a co-written letter to Arizona State football fans posted to the ASU athletics website, quarterback Mike Bercovici, safety Jordan Simone and running back D.J. Foster promise they will do everything in their power to chase championships.
"Our goal has and always will be to win championships, but the difference between this year and past seasons is the foundation we have laid through The Grind," the letter reads. "In the classroom, around the community and on the field, the standard inside our locker room is no longer to just win. We will be champions."
The letter finishes with a more clear promise: "The Territorial Cup will return to Tempe this year."
With both sides of the ball returning the majority of their starters, the trio certainly isn't setting outlandish goals. ASU enters the 2015 season ranked as a top 15 team in the eyes of many. One analyst even put the Sun Devils in his College Football Playoff.
Bercovici, Simone and Foster are roommates and will be seniors next season. Foster, who considered entering the NFL Draft, even said playing with his two friends one more season played a factor his decision to finish school.
It appears they have their goals mapped out before spring ball begins.
