As it happened: Social media's reaction to USA's win over Colombia

The U.S. women's national team took a 2-0 win in the round of 16 and will now play China PR on Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET. 

90' : USWNT win 2-0. Not exactly a convincing outing by the Americans, despite the scoreline. With a game against China PR looming, Jill Ellis and Co. need to watch film on how the Colombians were able to frustrate the USWNT offense and look to make imporvements. Also, Ellis must find a way to replace Rapinoe and Holiday while still getting a positive result. Our thoughts would be a combintion of Brian, Press and/or Leroux to replace them.  

85' : Press shining on the flank and Colombia still attacking with falir, but with no end product. Hope Solo being challenged a little bit but nothing too serious from the Colombian attackers. 

80' : Christen Press and Morgan starting to form a quality bond over the past few minutes. Might be beneficial seeing as Press could replace Rapinoe in the starting lineup next game. Game has really slowed down since the second penalty, Colombia still kind of look lost. Krieger comes out for Chalupny as well. 

70' : Morgan Brian relieves Wambach of a relatively bad afternoon and it can be assumed that she Brian will be getting some time in the next game against China PR -- if the USWNT can close this game. 

65' : Another penalty is called, this time for tripping up Rapinoe in the box and Lloyd steps up to take it. And she buries it easily past the 'keeper, it's 2-0 now and the USWNT may start looking to close up shop and get some subs in.

53' : Morgan redeems the USWNT with a low, driven shot that deflects off Castano's hand. 1-0 USWNT.

49' : And Wambach puts the penalty wide! USWNT has almost the entire half to try and score over 10-man Colombia but the Americans look a bit demoralized. 

47' : Red card! Perez is sent off for taking out Morgan at the top of the box. Now it's up to Stefany Castano in to try and deny the penalty. 

45' : Bad half for the USWNT. Becoming frustrated with the pace of play and the way the Colombians are playing. Something has to change if the Americans want to meet China PR in the quarterfinal. 

40' : First time the USWNT has really been on the back foot this match. Colombia launching attack after attack and going down at even the slightest of contact. Andrade is providing much of the attacking impetus for Colombia. Rapinoe picks up a yellow as well, so she woud miss the next game as well. 

35' : Here's a look at the Wambach goal that was ruled offside.

30' : Americans starting to attack more but many chances seem to be headed high or wide. USWNT playing too quickly, and Colombians are playing at their own pace and daring the U.S. to change the tempo. So far, Colombia looks unafraid and the Americans look frustrated. 

25' : Both teams look frustrated midway through the first half. Carli Lloyd and Holiday seem to give the ball away or take a loose touch each time they get the ball. Tactics need to change if USWNT want to score against thing stingy Colombia team.

20' : Lauren Holiday picks up a yellow card, which means she would have to sit out the next match if the USWNT advance. Quality service coming in from Rapinoe on these corners, seems to only be a matter of time before the ball goes in. 

15' : Americans starting to get into it now. Alex Morgan heads on a through ball to Wambach, who sees her hard shot saved by the Catalina Perez. Perez's two saves have been huge for Colombia, looks like Sandra Sepulveda has a very capable backup. 

12' : USWNT defense is sitting back pretty far and outside of its first attack, Americans aren't looking great on the offensive end. Colombia starting to settle in and we might have a very good game on our hands if it continues like this.

8' : Lady Andrade urging her compatriots forward and the Colombian attacker is clearly going to run through her this game. Heath and Ali Krieger allow her to dance on the ball for a ridiculous amount of time before the ball is blasted out of the box. 

4' : It appears that Wambach bundles in Tobin Heath's initial effort but she is called offside. Great save by Colombian 'keeper. USWNT has settled into the game well. Clear that Colombia are pressing on the flanks and aren't allowing any of the midfielders an abundance of space. 

National anthems are done, handshakes exchanged, let's get this thing started.
