Artie Lange banned by ESPN, cancelled by Comedy Central after tweets about ESPN host

Comedian Artie Lange is feeling the effects of sharing his explicit and graphic sexual fantasy, which he claims was just a joke, about ESPN personality, Cari Champion, on Twitter.

Lange sent a series of tweets on Tuesday, while watching Champion host "First Take," detailing a scenario in which, among other things, Champion would be his slave and they'd have illegitimate children.

The backlash from people citing the tweets as racist and sexist came fast and furious.

ESPN released a statement on Wednesday saying, "His comments were reprehensible and no one should be subjected to such hateful language. They objectify and demean one of our valued employees under the thin guise of 'comedy' and are offensive to all of us. We will not dignify them with any other comment."

As a result, TMZ is reporting that ESPN has banned Lange from appearing on the network.

In addition, Lange was supposed to be a guest on Comedy Central's "Midnight," on Wednesday, but the network pulled the plug on the appearance.

Lange tried to explain his side while apologizing to Champion with a series of tweets on Wednesday.
