Arizona's Ryan Anderson named to All-Pac-12 team

Arizona forward Ryan Anderson, who transferred from Boston College to play his senior season for the Wildcats, was named to the 10-player All-Pac-12 men's basketball team in voting of the league's head coaches.

Utah sophomore forward Jakob Poeltl was voted player of the year, and Oregon State senior guard Gary Payton II, the lone repeat selection from last season's All-Pac-12 team, was named defensive player of the year. Oregon's Dana Altman repeated as coach of the year, and California Jaylen Brown was named freshman of the year.

Joining Anderson, Poeltl, Payton and Brown on the all-conference team were senior guard Andrew Andrews of Washington, senior forwards Josh Scott of Colorado, Elgin Cook of Oregon and Rosco Allen of Stanford, junior guard Julian Jacobs of USC and sophomore forward Dillon Brooks of Oregon.

Poeltl was fourth nationally in field goal percentage at 66 percent, was second in the Pac-12 in scoring at 17.5 points per game and third in rebounding at 9.1.

Altman led the Ducks to their first Pac-12 regular-season title since 2002 and became the first repeat coach of the year since Cal's Mike Montgomery from 2002-04.

Brown averaged 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.s

Arizona seniors Kaleb Tarczewski and Gabe York were second-team selections, along with UCLA junior Isaac Hamilton, California freshman Ivan Rabb and Washington freshman Dejointe Murray.

Arizona's Allonzo Trier was named to the all-freshman team along with Cal's Brown and Rabb, Washington's Murray and Oregon's Tyler Dorsey.

Tarczewski was named to the all-defensive team, joining Oregon State's Payton, Colorado's Scott, Utah guard Brandon Taylor and Oreogn forward Chris Boucher.
