Arizona United SC snaps three-match skid
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona United SC snapped its three-match losing streak with a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders 2 in front of more than 3,000 fans at Scottsdale Stadium.
Forwards Jonathan Top and Long Tan scored back-to-back goals within five minutes of each other to overcome an early 1-0 deficit.
Down a goal in the 60th minute, Arizona United SC's Danny Garcia had the ball on the left side of the net and passed to Top, who unleashed a shot to the left side of the net. The ball deflected off a Seattle defender into the back of the net to tie the game.
Tan gave Arizona United SC the lead for good in the 63rd minute. Defender Otis Earle sent a long pass over the defense to Tan, who was at the far right post. He headed the ball into the back of the net.
Seattle Sounders FC 2 opened the scoring with a goal from defender Nick Miele.
