Arizona slips to 22nd in AP basketball rankings

Arizona's latest stay in the Associated Press basketball top 10 lasted all of one week. The Wildcats (22-7, 10-6 Pac-12) dropped from ninth to 18th following a pair of narrow losses on the road to Colorado and Utah.

Utah (23-7, 11-5) moved up from 22nd to 13th on the strength of last week's sweep of Arizona and ASU, and Pac-12 leader Oregon (23-6, 12-4) moved from 13th to ninth.

California (21-8, 11-5) checked in at No. 25 after a pair of wins last week over Southern California and UCLA.

Arizona concludes its regular season schedule this week with home games against California on Thursday and Stanford on Saturday.

Kansas (25-4) moved back atop this week's poll, ending Villanova's three-week reign. The Jayhawks received 63 of 65 first-place votes.

Villanova (25-4), which lost to Xavier last week, fell two spots to third, with Michigan State (24-5) moving up to No. 2.

Rounding out the top 10 were Virginia, Xavier, Oklahoma, Miami, North Carolina, Oregon and West Virginia.
