Arizona remains 7th in AP basketball poll
Arizona held firm at No. 7 in this week's Associated Press men's college basketball poll after Saturday's victory over ASU that gave the Wildcats a share of the Pac-12 championship.
Kansas (28-3) was No. 1 for the second week in a row and received 59 first-place votes Monday from the 65-member national media panel. Villanova (28-3), UCLA (28-3) and Gonzaga (30-1) held their spots at 2 through 4, but Oregon (27-4) moved into the top five at the expense of North Carolina (26-6).
Arizona, Kentucky, Baylor and Louisville completed the top 10.
Maryland (24-7) is the only new addition to this week's top 25, replacing Miami (20-10), which lost to Virginia Tech and Florida State.
Even with the loss of Miami, the Atlantic Coast Conference still leads with six ranked teams. The Big 12 is next with four.
Arizona will be the No. 2 seed in this week's Pac-12 tournament and plays next on at 7 p.m. Thursday in Las Vegas against the Washington State-Colorado winner.
ASU is the No. 8 seed and will play Stanford on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
