Arizona gets commitments from 4-star teammates

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona's linebacker group -- badly depleted by injuries last year -- will have some reinforcements. But not until next year.

This year's group will have better depth, and now the future looks even more promising, as the Wildcats picked up commitments Wednesday from a pair of 4-star high school players.

Linebackers Marquis Ware and Jamardre Cobb committed to Arizona. They are teammates at Los Angeles Salesian High.

Ware, a 6-foot-2, 210-pounder, is ranked as the 18th best outside linebacker by Scout.com. Cobb, 6-2, 215, is a middle linebacker and rated as the eighth best middle linebacker, according to Scout.com.

They join Salesian teammate Rodney Carr (6-foot, 185 defensive back)  as part of the recruiting class.

This recruiting class is looking better than last year's class, with five four-star recruits already committed. UA signed three in 2013.

Arizona now has 24 total commitments, including Texas transfers Cayleb Jones and Connor Brewer. The two joined UA's program within the last month.
