Ann Arbor Eddie wins King Glorious Stakes at Los Alamitos
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) Ann Arbor Eddie won the $100,000 King Glorious Stakes for 2-year-olds bred or sired in California by 1 1/4 lengths Sunday on closing day of Los Alamitos' winter meet.
Ridden by Mario Gutierrez, Ann Arbor Eddie ran one mile in 1:35.98 and paid $7.20, $2.60 and $2.10 as the 5-2 second choice.
He, trainer Doug O'Neill and owner-breeder Reddam Racing also won last year's race with Found Money.
California Diamond returned $2.10 and $2.10 as the 2-5 favorite. Milton Freewater, also trained by O'Neill, was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $2.80 to show.
Hot Smoke was fourth and Calli Way was last in the five-horse field.
Ann Arbor Eddie has career earnings of $101,200, with two wins in three starts.
