Angels acquire RHP Barry Enright from Arizona
The Angels made a trade for a starting pitcher Monday, but it wasn’t one of the big names that’s been rumored in recent weeks.
The team acquired right-hander Barry Enright from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for a player to be determined later or cash considerations. Enright, 26, will be assigned to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Enright was a second-round draft pick by the Diamondbacks in the 2007 draft out of Pepperdine. He had two stints with Arizona but struggled both times, going 6-7 with a 3.91 ERA in 2010 and 1-4 in seven starts last season with a 7.41 ERA.
This season, he was 8-6 with Triple-A Reno of the Pacific Coast League. He started 21 games and gave up 118 hits in 110 1/3 innings with a 5.87 ERA.
