7-foot-5 Aggies center Bhullar declares for NBA Draft

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- New Mexico State center Sim Bhullar has decided to forego his final two seasons of college eligibility and enter his name into the 2014 NBA Draft.

Bhullar, who is 7-feet-5 and 360 pounds, earned Most Valuable Player honors in both the 2013 and 2014 Western Athletic Conference tournaments and led the Aggies to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths. In two seasons, he averaged 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game while shooting 64.8 percent from the field. He holds the school record for blocks in a season (101) and game (10).

"I have always dreamed of playing professional basketball, and I have decided to officially pursue this by entering my name into the NBA Draft," said Bhullar, who is from Toronto.

New Mexico State coach Marvin Menzies lauded Bhullar for his contributions to the program.

"We are so happy for Sim and are 100-percent supportive of his decision to play professionally," Menzies said. "He has had an unbelievable impact on this program, community, and school in his short time here. "

NBAdraft.net projects Bhullar as a "late second round to undrafted."  Draftexpress.com lists him as the No. 96 prospect in the draft.
