47-year-old Roy Jones Jr. brutally KO'd MMA fighter vying for $100K in iPPV fight

Even at age 47, former middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight champion "Captain Hook" Roy Jones Jr. has still got it.

"It" being at least a vast amount more experience than your average Joe off the street, and knockout power. Thirty-three-year-old Vyron "The Cannon" Phillips learned that the hard way (or rather unusual way) on Sunday night in Phoenix when boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. dropped the fan/MMA fighter in the second round (Phillips is 5-3 in his MMA career according to Sherdog).

Watch Jones Jr. send Phillips to the canvas for the knockout win:

The fight topped a $11.99 iPPV card by URshow.tv that blended WWE, MMA and boxing stars.

We're not sure if Phillips was more fan or fighter given the nature of how he arrived in the ring against a former Olympic medalist: through URShow's contest that required entrants to submit a 90-second video explaining why they should get a shot at Jones and a $100,000 prize if they could beat him.

“I’d like to see Roy go away from this,’’ Phillips said. “Maybe, coach. I don’t want to see him get hurt.’’
