4 waived as Browns reduce roster

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Monday waived defensive back Vernon Kearney, defensive lineman Dave Kruger, wide receiver Cordell Roberson and linebacker Tommy Smith, the club announced. The Browns’ roster is currently at 84 players.

 All NFL teams are required to have a maximum of 75 players on their active rosters by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, and a maximum of 53 players by 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
