Without a flag, Keshavan still honoring India

KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) Shiva Keshavan cannot represent his country at the Sochi Olympics. However, he will represent his countrymen.

Keshavan is the only athlete from India ever to compete in an Olympic luge competition. When he races Saturday, he'll become a five-time Olympian, though this one will come without him actually racing under his country's flag.

India has been suspended by the International Olympic Committee for not banning corruption-tainted officials from running for elections. The suspension is expected to be lifted in the coming days, but not in time to allow Keshavan to compete for India.

He'll race under the Olympic flag, and has adorned his speedsuit with the names of countless backers who donated to help his Olympic journey.
