Oslo OKs 2022 Olympic bid
Oslo is moving ahead with plans to bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The city council voted Wednesday to ask for financial guarantees from the government, a precondition for hosting the games.
Norwegian news agency NTB says along with getting the government backing, the bid must be approved in a referendum.
Norway last hosted the Winter Olympics in 1994, when the games were held in Lillehammer.
