France's Hauss wins Ishigaki World Cup

David Hauss of France surged ahead during the run Sunday to win the ITU Ishigaki World Cup triathlon.

Hauss erased a 50-second deficit after the bike portion to claim his first triathlon World Cup victory with a time of 1 hour, 50 minutes, 6 seconds in the Olympic qualifier.

Davide Uccellari of Italy finished second, four seconds behind Hauss, while Gonzalo Raul Tellechea of Argentina took third place in 1:50:19.

Earlier, Canada's Kathy Tremblay won her first World Cup title with a time of 2:05:38 in the women's race. Aileen Morrison of Ireland finished second, 20 seconds behind Tremblay, while Sarah-Anne Brault, also of Canada, was third in 2:06:03.
