Flavio Roda stays in charge of sports federation
BOLOGNA, Italy (AP) Flavio Roda has been re-elected president of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, winning over half the votes.
Roda, who is Alberto Tomba's former coach, received 57,279 votes on Saturday, against 27,868 for Pietro Marocco and 12,173 for Manuela Di Centa.
The 65-year-old says ''there is a large number of associates who still believe I can still do something good for this federation.''
Roda, who has been in charge for the past two years, will remain in the post until 2018.
Roda was Tomba's coach from 1996-98 during the final seasons of the three-time Olympic champion's career. He was Italy's Alpine director from 2005 to 2007.
The federation (FISI) oversees Alpine skiing, cross country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, biathlon and sliding sports.
