Canada's Kaillie Humphries wins women's bobsled race

KOENIGSSEE, Germany (AP) Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries of Canada gained her second victory of the season in the women's bobsled on Friday.

Humphries and brakeman Melissa Lotholz had the fastest times in both heats for a winning total of 1 minute, 41.21 seconds. Belgium's Elfje Willemsen and partner Sophie Vercruyssen came in second, 0.53 seconds behind. Jamie Greubel Poser of the United States finished third, 0.64 seconds behind, alongside Lauren Gibbs.

World champion Elana Meyers Taylor of the United States did not race as she seeks treatment for the long-term effects of a concussion sustained about a year ago.

Humphries tops the overall World Cup standings after three of eight events with 650 points. Greubel Poser has 625 points and Willemsen is third with 596.
