Ainslie rebounds to share lead at America's Cup World Series

PORTSMOUTH, England (AP) British sailor Sir Ben Ainslie recovered from a fifth-place finish in the first race to win the next two races and tie for the lead Saturday in the America's Cup World Series.

Ainslie's Land Rover BAR is tied with Groupama Team France with 26 points going into Sunday's racing. He says it was an ''extra impetus'' to compete before home fans, and he wanted ''to give them something to cheer for.''

Ainslie is the most decorated sailor in Olympic history. He helped Oracle Team USA win the 2013 America's Cup.

Groupama Team France had finishes of 1-4-2. SoftBank Team Japan and two-time defending America's Cup champion Oracle Team USA are tied for third with 23 points.

They are followed by overall series leader Emirates Team New Zealand with 20 and Sweden's Artemis Racing with 17.
