A woman picked up Justin Rose's golf ball and immediately regretted her decision

If there's just a few things to know about being a spectator at a golf event, one of them is that yelling funny things after tee shots is encouraged. The other is that interfering with a live ball is highly, highly discouraged.

Unfortunately for one woman at the Olympics, she slipped up on that latter part. Justin Rose went a little wide on one of his tee shots during his final round over the weekend and the ball ended up rolling into the crowd. A woman nearby didn't realize the ball was still live, stepped in its path and decided to scoop it up as a souvenir. She immediately regretted that decision.

Others in the crowd quickly let the woman know that she had screwed up, prompting her to throw the ball back down on the course and cover her mouth in embarrassment. It was a very bizarre scene.

Luckily for Rose, he was ultimately given a free drop as a result of the spectator's ill-advised interference. Luckily for that fan, her gaffe didn't come back to hamper Rose's round, as he eventually went on to win gold.
