Wild's Coyle on strong run: 'My biggest thing is not playing safe'
Minnesota Wild forward Charlie Coyle is enjoying one of the best stretches of his young career, and he's doing it without a care in the world.
The production speaks for itself as Coyle has collected four goals and three assists in the last seven games to reach the 100-point plateau of his career. The 23-year-old revealed his creative mindset on the heels of scoring and setting up a goal in Minnesota's 3-2 setback to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
Coyle, who has shuffled between right wing and center, has 10 goals in just 38 games this season after mustering a career-high 12 in 70 contests in 2013-14.
The 28th overall pick of the 2010 draft, Coyle resides two tallies shy of fellow forward Thomas Vanek for the team lead. He also has 11 assists for 21 points.
Coyle is providing a jolt to a team in need of one, as Minnesota (20-11-7) has dropped two in a row and five of its last eight contests (3-4-1) to fall into fourth place in the ultra-competitive Central Division.
