Voracek on keeping Flyers grounded: 'Don't get too high, don't get too low'

Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek has been the picture of consistency of late - well, after overcoming a pronounced struggle out of the blocks, that is.

Voracek raised his point total to 31 in his last 31 games on Wednesday after he scored his second goal just 38 seconds into overtime in Philadelphia's 4-3 victory over the Metropolitan Division-rival Washington Capitals. The 26-year-old Voracek's heroics gave the Flyers (21-18-8) their eighth overtime triumph this season, matching the Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks for the most in the league.

"I think over the last 2 1/2 months, we've been playing good hockey. We've found a way to win games. The last three games (before Wednesday), we've found a way to lose the games. So we just have to make sure we're on the same line. Don't get too high. Don't get too low, and just try to make the playoffs."

Voracek's first multi-goal performance of the season enabled the Flyers to move within five points of the Keystone State-rival Pittsburgh Penguins (24-17-7) for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Signed to an eight-year, $66 million contract extension prior to the season, Voracek has come on with eight goals and a club-best 28 assists. His 36 points trail only captain Claude Giroux for the team lead.
