Toews meets Blackhawks fan in Peru
Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is recognizable all over the world.
After all, winning three Stanley Cup titles in six years has a way of keeping one from flying under the radar.
While on vacation in Peru, Toews was discovered by hockey fan and Oswego, Ill. native Ryan Adorjan as the pair hiked among the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. Adorjan told OnlyOswego that the 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy winner spoke to him and his group for several minutes.
"He's definitely my hockey hero, and to have had such an incredible encounter only makes him cooler," Adorjan told the website. Adorjan, who has been in Peru studying Spanish for the past three months, said he watched the Blackhawks defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning in a bar in Lima.
