Three finalists named for Masterton

Goalie Ray Emery of the Anaheim Ducks, forward Daymond Langkow of the Calgary Flames and forward Ian Laperriere of the Philadelphia Flyers are finalists for the Masterton Trophy. The award honors ''perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.''

Emery underwent complicated bone-graft surgery on his right hip last April. He went 7-2-0 with a 2.28 goals-against average and .926 save percentage this season.

More than a year after a puck hit his spine and fractured a vertebra, Langkow returned to play April 1.

Laperriere blocked a shot with his face during last year's playoffs. He was left with a concussion and fractured orbital bone but came back during the postseason.

The winner is announced June 22 during the NHL's awards event.
