The Blackhawks scored an embarrassing own goal in season-opener

The Chicago Blackhawks wrapped up their season-opener against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday by accidentally putting a puck into their own net. Not great!

Sure, the 'Hawks were already down by two goals with just seconds left in the game, meaning they were most likely going to lose anyway. Nonetheless, whatever pride they had left was dashed when they brain-farted a dribbler backwards into the net.

Maybe making matters worse was the fact that the play involved three of their best players. Brent Seabrook tried to drop a pass back to Patrick Kane, who couldn't reel in the pass prior to Duncan Keith's failed attempt to get a stick on it.

That's not exactly the way you want to kick off your NHL season. Fortunately, there are 81 regular season games left for redemption.
