Tampa Bay Lightning F Ryan Callahan Sidelined With Lower-Body Injury
Tampa Bay Lightning alternate captain Ryan Callahan will not be joining his teammates on the ice tonight as he has been sidelined with a Lower-Body Injury.
The Tampa Bay Lightning simply cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries this season. It almost seems as if every single time a player finally makes their way back into the lineup, another player is headed to the sidelines with some sort of injury. Unfortunately, tonight is no different for the Bolts.
The Lightning received some good news earlier this afternoon when the news made its way around the Bolts Nation that Lightning forward J.T. Brown would be making his way back into the lineup tonight as the Lightning take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Brown has been sidelined with an Upper-Body Injury since the Lightning’s heated encounter with the Nashville Predators on November 21st at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Lightning were met with some equally upsetting news just moments before the start of tonight’s encounter with the Blue Jackets. The Lightning announced just before game time that Lightning alternate captain Ryan Callahan has been listed as Day-to-Day with a Lower Body Injury.
This is definitely bad news for the Tampa Bay Lightning and their fans. Ryan Callahan is not the kind of player a team wants sitting on the sidelines for any real period of time. Not only does Cally have the kind of leadership experience any team would be happy to have, but he is also a large part of the Lightning’s grit on the ice.
Callahan is the kind of player who is just as valuable in front of the net as he is in other positions on the ice. In addition to scoring goals, Cally can deliver powerful hits and be an incredibly obnoxious pest to his opponents.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have not offered up any details as to the nature or extent of Ryan Callahan’s injury. Hopefully, this is a good thing and can be considered a sign that his injuries are not that serious and he will be able to make a speedy return to the ice.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have a lofty challenge in front of them tonight at the Nationwide Arena. After dropping two consecutive games, one of which was against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Lightning will be desperately searching for some redemption. Needless to say, this will make for an interesting game.
