Tampa Bay Lightning C Steven Stamkos To Become A Pop! Figure

Funko has announced some of the NHL’s favorite players are about to be immortalized as Pop! Figures. One of those players is Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos.

In every walk of life, there comes a phenomenon known as the super fan. No matter what realm the super fan may be a part of, they are dedicated beyond the point of reason and ready to defend their passion at a moment’s notice. One of the many realms that inhabit this world are sports fans.

Tampa Bay Lightning fans have no shortage of merchandise to collect and help them show their pride for their favorite hockey team. The Tampa Bay Sports Store located at the Amalie Arena has just about anything Lightning fans could possibly want; everything from apparel to jerseys, pucks, and even home décor items.

Despite the amount of amazing merchandise they have, there is one thing they do not have…at least not yet. We would like to consider ourselves a collector of all things awesome. Come November, Tampa Bay Lightning fans will have another thing to add to their display case.

Funko, the company behind the ridiculously popular Pop! Figures announced this afternoon the NHL would finally be invading the world of Pop! Figures. There will be a total of 16 new figures hitting the market in November and will be featuring the personalities of some of the best players in the NHL.

One of those aforementioned players is Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos.

Stamkos will be numbered 08 in the series. Needless to say, Stamkos’ Pop! Figure looks pretty amazing. Steven Stamkos will be wearing the Lightning’s blue home jersey with his number 91 prominently featured on his arm with the “C” in the top left corner of his jersey.

The figure takes Stamkos’ facial features from the most recent version of the 26-year-old Lightning captain; complete with his shorter hairdo and a goatee on his face. If you want to take a look for yourselves, all you have to do is head on over to Funko’s website for a preview.

Joining Steven Stamkos on NHL fans’ display cases nationwide will be Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and forward Patrick Kane, New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, Edmonton Oilers young star Connor McDavid, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, and last but not least, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin.

Unfortunately, the one thing Funko did not offer up in their announcement earlier today is an exact date of release. For right now, all we know is these figures are set to hit stores sometime in November. We don’t know about the rest of the Bolts Nation, but you can bet your bottom dollar we have a spot on our shelf just waiting for Steven Stamkos and his amazing new Pop! Figure.
